Some time ago, Petes put out a Maple beer of some sort. I don't remember if it was a porter or an ale or....? Anyway, it had a great maple flavor. That's what I was looking forward to with this kit. I was disappointed in that respect. The beer came out with a great Brown ale flavor, just not what I was expecting. It had some carmel notes up front, with a mild bitter finish. Also - put your maple syrup in the fridge when you get it home. The batch I got for priming turned into a science experiment before I could use it. I replaced it with some Trader Joe's maple syrup, and even used a little more than it called for. Cheers!
